Dog Problems

There are quite a few people running/walking with the spring weather, I personally have had some dog issues and have started running with Mace, I know of another person who is walking with a small baseball bat. The point of the story is...it would sure be nice to be able to walk/run without having to worry about the "nice little puppy" which happens to be a 3 foot high German Shepherd, in our face. Please be curteous and keep your dog on your property...no matter how "nice" they are.

Loftbed/Bunkbed

I have a white wood loftbed with slide. We put a mattress under it and used it as a bunkbed. The bed includes a mattress for the loftbed. I'm asking $50.00 for it. You can come take a look at it anytime you want. You'll have to come and disassemble yourself.

Palm Tungsten E2 for Sale

We want to sell our Palm Tungsten E2 PDA. Russell bought it to use in Primerica Financial Services, but they have since moved on to Windows Mobile. So...we don't need it anymore, but maybe someone in our neighborhood does. It's in practically brand new condition and has hardly been used. It's about two years old, but it works perfectly. We're selling it with two USB/Sync cables, power supply, Software Installation CD, and stylus. We're asking $60 or OBO. Call us or e-mail us if you have any questions or want to buy it.

High Tension Power Lines in our neighborhood

For all my fellow Southrimmers...You probably all know about this since I am usually the last to know about everything. Russell told me that Rocky Mountain Power is planning on building 200-ft high High Tension Power Lines at the western edge of Phase 2. The County has scheduled a meeting to discuss the matter on Wednesday, March 3, at 7 pm. I think this is worth showing up for. I really don't want these power lines in our neighborhood when RMP could easily move them west of the Lincoln Hwy where the land is undeveloped and there is no water or power. This is what RMP previously wanted to do. Bill Hogan is putting a notice about the power lines in the water bill too. Contact him if you have further questions. I am sure there will be more infomation in the notice in the water bill.

Silver Ave Guard Rail Meeting

The Silver Ave Guard Rail is on the County Commission meeting for Tues, Feb 2, 2010. Although this particular meeting is not yet listed on the county website, this meeting is generally held at 3pm in room 310 of the "old" county courthouse. I know this time is difficult for many so look for a petition coming around in the next couple of weeks so those who cannot attend the meeting can voice their concern via their signature. If possible please plan to attend the meeting, it has been suggested by the roads department that as many of us as possible are there.
If you have other ideas on how we can make our voices heard concerning this matter, please let me know.

Guard Rail around the lake

A huge thanks to all of those who helped us out of our car situation sunday morning; I really appreciate people who are willing to set aside their fears to help someone in need...especially when that someone is me and my family. We recognize that it was only through a miracle from Heavenly Father that we did not roll into the lake bed.
Now we are on a mission to not let this happen to anyone else. I have contacted the county and voiced my concerns to Rod Thompson (rthompson@co.tooele.ut.us), Director of the roads department, He has assured me that he will have people out to look at the situation as soon as Dec. 15. I want to ensure this stays on his mind until the problem is solved so I'm asking you to email or call him and voice your opinion. Here are the 3 specific things I am asking of him:
1. a guard rail be put up in the location we almost fell off (I'm sending him the exact location after I mile-mark it today)
2. Reflectors be placed around all corners so when there are white-out conditions people (especially those not familiar with the area) know where the road is going.
3. A sign be posted with this general message: "In case of hazardous road conditions call 843-3204 or 882-5600" I would like to see one posted near the Wheeler's house and one near the Raw Hide subdivision.

Free Shoes

I have a bag full of used boy's shoes sizes ranging from about 7-11 There are some church shoes, cowboy boots, sandals, and other's. I would keep them, but I don't feel like storing them long enough for Tiago to fit into them!

Announcement...Sports Night

Sports Night...starting thursday Jan. 8th, 2009 There will be a group of women playing various sports on thurs. nights at 8pm at the Stockton church. We will be playing a lot of basketball, some volleyball, indoor soccer and perhaps other sports if there is an interest!

Please come join us, anyone is invited regardless of where you live...we are really trying to keep it to women but if there aren't enough people to play in the future we may open it to men. Teens are welcome too. Come and let's get some excercise!

I was talking to Janae today and mentioned to her that I had a couple of things I was wanting to sell, and "if you know anyone interested" type of thing. She then let me know something she had that she was wanting to sell to, "if I knew anyone". So, tonight, while I was watching the new CSI New York, I had a thought. We had talked about doing a community yard sale, but why not a community "classifieds" blog? This would be for any South Rim resident that had item(s) for sale, for free, items you are in need of, lost, found, kittens, puppies, whatever. I would like to keep it with us out here, as far as the password and actually blogging is concerned. Should you have a friend/family member out of the area that wanted to put something on, that's fine, although, you, as a South Rim resident, would need to do it for them. I will monitor and make sure nothing inappropriate gets on and if it does, I will remove it. But, I don't think that will happen. You can put a small picture with your description if you'd like. Make sure you title your blog entry with the items, so that they will list in the history, if they don't sell and are still available. Kind of like an index. When they sell, they will need to be marked as such. Also, make sure you put a phone number. Hopefully this will be fun and we can give our friends and family the website and it will get the word out, and we can get rid of the "stuff" we don't need anymore. Tammy.
